Sunday, September 23, 5:35 A.M.: Sleep Eludes
Once again... Sleep is evil. Bane of my existance. ^-^ Anyways...

So... i felt like drawing... So I did. I'm really proud of what I did, but... i should seriously stop having to hunt for sleep. *finds the net gun*

But yeah. Here.

That's it. Thanks for coming. ^-^

Sunday, September 16, 6:22 A.M.: Tertiary Installment
Sooo... Sleep is a completely foreign concept to me. I had thisunquenchable urge to do SOMETHING with a forum I've been haunting lately (Again) and wound up playing with sprites a little. Below is the comparison between what I did and the original sprite (As presented by Veekun's Pokedex feature. (You can look up the pokemon by name.))

Species: Purrloin (5th Generation)
Modifications: Added bangs, changed patterning to preference

Species: Tauros
Modifications: Scars along the side

Species: Tauros
Modifications: None - Mute

Species: Houndour
Modifications: Turned hind bracers into a decorative hip bone-design, changed skullcap figure, expression change, ear position reformatted to preference (Lots of edits on this one)

I know the spriting's not well done, so... if you have commentary or advice on how to improve my work, I'd love to hear it. (Check the Author page for contact info.) Non-constructive criticism is not wanted and may be met with an ignoring of your address, depending on my mood. ^-^

I also repositioned the sprites a little for purposes that only meet my needs, which will likely be beyond most of you. (If you've been there or saw my last post, you might notice that the cat and the dog look a lot like their example pictures on the CBW page, there's a reason. ^-^)

There's one more new thing... I mentioned the dog has a picture. If you were here for the last blog-post, you know that the only dog was a three-tailed fox patterned after the Cape Fox

SO! New picture! ^-^

I appreciate your patronage. ^-^ Again, commentary and suggestions are welcome. Stop by again. I plan on doing some charms later, and I'll be posting the pictures when they finish drawing.

Wednesday, September 05, 5:24 A.M.: Second Installment
Soooo... I had trouble sleeping, and there's sort of a reason. (I've been reading creepy pastas late at night alone in a dark room when I still have to walk the dogs before I can go to bed...) Sooo... here's stuff for you. ^-^ Sorry it's a touch late. (more than a week, but I made up for it...)

These two are pokemon I recently acquired on a forum I recently joined. I'm having a lot of fun with it, so... Yeah. Anyways...

The purple one is a Purrloin, a cat pokemon bent on stealing shit. Her coloration's a little off, because we're allowed to do that. I might try my paw at spriting, but... probably not. I hate spriting and I'm not good or confident with it. So there! >P

The other one is called a Vulpix. his coloration was done by a member on the board; I was lucky enough to catch the promotion in which he was being given away. His personality makes him a pain in the ass, but I love him, all the same.

I kind of cheated when I made the backgrounds and used one of the standard brushes, and I didn't remember some of the tricks I used with Cornelius when I did Chelsea. (I drew Chelsea first, about a week ago, now, so I make up for my lazy... Sort of.) Corny, I did tonight.

I'm proud of the work, personally. Input would be loved.

As always, thanks for poppin' in. It was nice to see you lot! BYEEEEE!

Oh, PS: I redesigned the comics page. ^-^

Sunda, August 26, 7:00 P.M.: Picture Perfect!
Welcome! I hope to make this a recurrant project, but... In the mean time, here's the start. The first provision of what I hope to make at least a weekly occurance: My feelings on canvas!

... Sort of...

Plans are to make a weekly comic of sorts: Draw something or do a little one-strip comic thing to post here that just... houses my thoughts, something like that. Most of them, instead of going to the blog, like usual, will go into a new page I'm about to go code that will have a list of topics to pull from. 'singles', 'random thoughts', and a topic for each comic will be listed there. If I recieve positive responses on a particular area between posts I'll focus there when my muse permits. Until then... Here's some random stuff. ^-^ I'll be posting pages for a couple comics I'm doing soon, too. ^-^

Friday, February 24, 4:08 A.M.: Ranting and Raving! Re: NINTENDO!
Lately, I have been hearing the theme song for Sega, but it's a conversation with a close friend that sparked this message today.

I loaded up a copy of Pokemon Gold on my VBA (The computer version of nintendo's Game Boy Advance dinosaur system.) Yes, this is a Rom and an Emulator, but as I have the physical game, AND the system, I'm allowed to use them. ^-^ I won't link anyone to them, though. It's not my place to get anyone in trouble and I've no interest in it. Anyways... I loaded up my game, and I was going through it, and as I hit 'Yes, I know how to use this', my 'Mother' opted to go into a long description of it, anyways. This sparked a thought that, actually, isn't too terribly uncommon for me, when I replay games I used to love.

Why the HELL do these assholes feel the need to tell me how to use something when I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO USE IT!? I JUST SAID I KNOW HOW TO USE IT! I'M NOT A FECKING IDIOT, NINTENDO!

And, after this little gem of a tangent, we got off to talking about the idea of a pokemon MMO.

Hey... Nintendo...

WHY THE HELL NOT YET IS THERE A POKEMON MMO!?!?!? Something with semi-realistic interactions, lasting pain/injuries, maybe even temporary deaths. Trainers with PERSONALITY, rather than just 'I SAW YOU! MUST BATTLE NAOW BISH!' or 'I'm from some evil team that's got the same goal we've always had!'

Okay, I have to admit, Black an White have made some PHENOMENAL strides. I absolutely love the jump in graphics between Diamond/Pearl and Black/White. However, with that, you let the aesthetics of the actual pokemon fall by the wayside. I realize that pokemon can't all be pretty, well-groomed, perfectly-coiffed little beasts like MLP, but, seriously, MOST of the fifth generation need a LOT of help. If you're having trouble finding new appearances and pokemon ideas, turn to your fans. BROWSE the forums and fansites. CONTACT people, ask how they came up with it and it's purpose. If you like it, ask if you can use it. It is EVERY fan's DREAM for their pokemon to be famous! Even if that's NOT how the pokemon originally was designed, or what they were designed for. Often times, they're designed for our personal entertainment, a special touch that we can add to the game and the roleplay element. I think you'd be surprised, if you just took a look.

Now... I know nobody reads this unless I shove it down their throats, I'm not naiive or stupid, but a number of my friends will agree with me, and the number of them that aren't into pokemon will probably look at some of this and go 'yeah, that might make me want to play'. The others'll say 'Who the fuck is this and why am I friends with her again!?' I don't mind.

As the Bio says, I'm not a child. 22 years old, 23 in about 2 weeks, and still a hardcore pokemon fan. (If it weren't for my husband-to-be and my dog, I'd have all my pokemon stuff all over the place and the whole appartment would be themed after the little beasts if I had to MAKE pokemon things.) STOP TREATING US LIKE NOOBS AND IDIOTS, NINTENDO! EVEN CHILDREN ARE GETTING TIRED OF IT!

And, not that my opinion matters any, but something I'd like to see in future Pokemon games, whether for the 3DS or the 76th version of the Wii, I don't care, is an 'adept player' option, that allows one to skip ALL the tutorials we've already been through. Unless it's vital to the story, the beginner's quest would be nice to avoid, as well. Just give those of us that know what's going on the pokeballs and send us on our way. Script the obtaining of the iDex or whatever it will eventually be called into our introduction to our professors or parents or whatever. This is another thing I like about Black/White, you don't have to go through all hell's fury to get the pokeballs. Just kick the shit out of your friends and go visit the professor. (The catching tutorial I can understand, but, really, in the pokemon world, what trainer who's been looking forward to getting a pokemon would NOT have seen how to catch one on a sitcom, drama, or reality TV show? They're all over the TVs, so don't tell me they don't exist, dammit.)

And what if we WANTED to join Team Rocket on Nugget Bridge?! I said YES every time, and he STILL got pissed off and told me to go kiss a cobra. What is the point of asking us a question like that if we're going to be told off no matter how we answer? The message that sends to kids is something along the lines of 'no matter what you want in life, you'll never get it.' It's a tease. I always liked to imagine he wasn't an ass about and and that he let me join the team. Made it kind of hard, since Team Rocket continued to plague and combat my every step, and there was a scripted event to take down the unit, before you brought them back for Johto, where Ash continued to thrash James and Jessie and they're still around in Orre, which means the team never actually got taken down, or rebuilt themselves. How many times have those idiots been thrashed and beaten into oblivion, and they still keep coming back? How stupid ARE these people!?

An idea for the MMO? Don't make us automatically go battle gyms in led, scripted events we can't avoid. Give us options. Let us teach our pokemon things from people experienced in it. There's so much LIFE in the TV show, make there be jugglers and ball players and REAL contests, where it's not a contest of particular moves and points, because that's all it really is. Leave the points in the background, make people figure out how to earn points, like a secondary form of experience, or a writeup or something. I don't really know how that would work, and I can't imagine the coding would be anything but eyerape, but it has to be more fun to learn how to do that than to rehash the same game over and over again, like you did with everthing from Red/Blue/Green/Yellow up until Ruby and Silver. The graphics jumps and the minigames are GREAT, but they're not enough. You're LOSING your fanbase in the series, and you NEED to do something to liven it up besides those bobblehead chibis in Pokemon Park.

I would HATE to see this franchise die. I've been part of it since it came to America in 1998, and I've been smitten since Mewtwo threw ash away like trash. (I'm not dissing Ash, I just don't like him. He's an old character who's gray of hair and long in the tooth, and the only thing that really changes about him between seasons is his outfit, and he has amnesia every time, and Pikachu LOSES all his power every time Ash goes to a new area, it's ridiculous.)

Wise up, Nintendo, before your fans do. PLEASE don't abandon us, just because we're older. Don't leave us in the dark by trying to please a new generation and forgetting about your older fans.

We're here for you, Nintendo, and we love you. Don't run away.

With love and devotion,
Ruudles

Friday, February 03, 5:30 P.M.: HOLYSHAZBOTZ I'm back!
Oh... My... Trucking... Gods...

LOOKATTHEFUCKINGPRETTIES!!!!!!

Am I SERIOUSLY back, after ALL this MASSIVELY annoying time? ... Yes... Unfortunately (For you)... I'm back.

AND I'm UPDATING MY WEBSITe! FULL Makeover! So... I'm deleting all those depressing blogs I wrote forever ago and doing... Well, everything but the base bloodcode here. I'm too lazy to go learn new coding right now. Could be just that I haven't slept.

Anyways... So, obviously, there's been a LOT of cosmetic damage with a knife around here. Whyyyy?

BECAUSE I CAN!

Aaaand, at the request of a close friend, this makeover's not the end of it all! I'm going to be doing my damnedest to post a couple times a week, whether it's a comic (I've been intending on doing something like that for a LONG time...) or art or a blogpost or whatever. I have several projects in the works, so I'll be trying to keep all you (1) viewers kept up. ^-^ Let me know how I do. (I'll have contact information up shortly on the 'About the Author' page. You can see it under the little furry SORRY gamepiece... When I have it up.)

So... What's new? The banner, the buttons, a TINY update of SOME of the coding, some arrangements, the page titles, and there will very shortly be a few new pages up for you to enjoy!

What... With me? Plenty, thanks for asking. ^-^
